Based on the black and white parameters set forth, below all seem like legitimate actions:
- Converting HSBC RewardCash to Asia Miles with names matching on both accounts
- Converting Amex points to Asia Miles with names matching on both accounts
- Adding/Removing any individual of your choice to your redemption nominee list, even with different surname.

Not sure why the first two course of actions would raise suspicion in the eyes of CX?

I can understand how changing your list often and redeeming for your newly nominated companions a lot will raise suspicion; but as far as I know CX hasn't prescribed a limit on the frequency you can change your redemption nominee list. It still shouldn't be grounds for a suspension.

Ultimately if you're in the right alanyhq hopefully this will be resolved satisfactorily. Cathay is unlikely to ever say exactly why they banned your account, and we can speculate but wouldn't really know, but there isn't an obvious "red flag", so you just need to engage with them politely and support their process. The account has only been suspended rather than cancelled after all.

You haven't done the obvious Amex. I'm not sure whether HSBC - even non-HK HSBC - attracts the same unwanted attention.

So maybe they overreacted to the two adds. I'm not sure how they'll handle that.

(This part is pure speculation) Have those two members also been obtaining redemptions from other Cathay members? That's all I can think of.
I think the red flag is definitely my second redemption, I give my account to her because she needs to secure the ticket (travel during China National Day and I don't have too much time to help her for this booking) Her original travel date was affected by the typhoon in Hong Kong, so she also logged into my account to change it.

I called Cathay on Monday and they said background team blocked my account and gave me the member terms.

AML may terminate the Membership of a Member, the right of a Member to use his/her Membership Card (if applicable), and the Member’s access to or use of the Cathay Membership Programme services, facilities and benefits without notice if AML believes that a Member commits or their Membership account is involved in Misconduct or fraud, misuses the Cathay Membership Programme benefits and any Awards, and/or fails to adhere to these Terms and Conditions. In such circumstances, AML may cancel all Asia Miles and Status Points and/or Awards redeemed by(as applicable) the Member.
They have created a case for me but so far no message from them so far. I hope Cathay can give me a chance to explain this. Thanks @littlevoices for this useful link. I was really surprised, because they should be tracking people who often use miles to redempt tickets, not people like me who have only used them twice.
