I’ve edited mine which had your quote. I screenshot it first though cause I know I’ll forget.
I can’t think of any way off the top of my head of how to share info on this board without it being caught by airline eyes. Posting it and deleting it is fine but if someone quotes you then .. they’re in charge of their own post and may not check FT for a while and may not be aware of a request for them to edit the info out… so it stays out there for longer for Air NZ to see.
In my 20 years on FT, I have seen many mistake air fares and mistake hotel rates be shared - only then to see airlines and hotels quickly close them off.
Many subsequent discussions ensue about these being ruined by too many people jumping onto the bandwagon and spoiling things.
I think the AirNZ situation where indirect flights with a reversal of direction (eg WLG-AKL-NPL) earned way more SPs but for the same price as the direct flight, were killed by oversharing here on FT.
Who knows whether this would have been tidied up by AirNZ anyway, but certainly sad it has gone.
These days, posting anything about some kind of ‘sweet spot’ or favourable benefit seems inevitably to lead to it being killed off.
