I'm assuming you're on the 8:40pm AA flight to ORD. Note there is also a 9:15pm BA flight to LHR they could put you on if you misconnect.

Since there are only two flights from MQT per day and they're 12 hours apart, you would be better off just renting a car and driving to ORD (~ 6 hours). Of course, you would need to call AA and tell them that because if you no-show for the MQT flight, your onward flight will be canceled.

Agree with the previous poster that there's no harm in calling and asking.

Another option is drive 3 hours to GRB and fly in from there since there are more options.
