I think their IT people know, otherwise they won't have suspended online changing of FFPs in the beginning of August. However, them knowing does not mean they will make good the loss to you - after all, the first rule of corporate blame shifting (not just in Hong Kong but particularly true here) is if there is someone else to blame you bloody absolutely do so, here there is clearly Qantas to blame.
