The InterContinental Montréal, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced that it will close its doors from 1 February 2026 for an estimated period of 14 to 18 months.
The 357-room property will undergo a major investment project aimed at fully updating its interiors, strengthening its heritage, and providing an outstanding working environment for its employees.
“This transformation will allow us to preserve and even enhance the InterContinental Montréal’s standing as a landmark luxury destination for both local and international guests,” said Armand Abitbol, General Manager of the hotel.
To minimise disruption for guests, management decided to completely close the hotel during the renovation rather than proceed with works while operating, a choice that will also significantly shorten the construction schedule — which would otherwise have extended over three years.
