I'd be surprised if you can't get good Osechi in London -- there was a Japanese restaurant in the DC area (Bethesda) that took orders every New Year and my family picked up an Osechi set from there several years in a row (along with a platter of sushi to eat while watching Kohaku). Basically same quality as Japan since everything is preserved and flown in. There has to be at least one Japanese restaurantLondon doing the same, if not several.
I knew of one chef who offered it in London, more as a hobby than a business, but it was a strictly limited number and his clientele list was set. We were friends of friends of his and were fortunate to get to try a few of his research and development projects (as well as those made by some other members of families with Japanese cultural heritage). I understand it is different now,
