Thanks for the replies everyone. Seems the general consensus is that I shouldn't get online orders delivered here. Time to knock up a former colleague from 30 years ago and see if he can receive them for us.

I've not given it a second thought ordering items or a higher value than an iPhone at Marriotts and a Holiday Inn in London or Le Meridiens in Bangkok and Barcelona but I'm not so familiar with expected service standards in the US this being my first trip there in more than 13 years and my first ever branded hotel in the Americas. Doubtless, I'm in for a few eye-opening experiences after the qualifying as LTP almost-exclusively in Asian hotels.
