I see your profile mentions you are platinum,
and you were granted lounge acess when you did not have a lounge pass,
that's a pretty good from these CP's that you visited!
Treasure these moments, they are getting rare.....

With some extra typing, receptionists can see if you have an annual lounge pass, but your ihg-1rewards number must be junctioned to your reservation.

Ofcourse being granted lounge access as an upgrade is a bit of a moot point if you already posses an annual lounge pass.
You could politely point this out and ask about an upgrade.
Don't forget as you are platinum, there could be a couple of diamonds checking in that day that are also eligable for upgrades.....
The pool of upgrades might get a lot of overfishing...
