When I booked our winter break trip back in March there were zero award nights available through the end of the calendar. At the time reserved 2 rooms with an early booking rate (King Garden Bungalow and Twin Garden Bungalow). The cancellation deadline for that rate is about a month out, so checked back yesterday. Both a King Garden and Twin Deluxe Garden Bungalow were available for standard awards. Award availability can definitely change.

Even from yesterday to today it changed. Yesterday booked the Twin Garden Bungalow for 5 nights but the King Garden was only available for 4 nights. Today the King Garden became available for the 5th night so booked that as well. Downside is we may not get connecting rooms. Will hope that the King Garden can become a King Garden Bungalow by the end of December -- will be at the mercy of availability. That said the redemption value is over .9 cents per point vs. the early booking rate and even higher compared to current rates -- too good to pass up. Though once I find out how much we have to additionally pay for the mandatory New Year's Eve dinner, expecting that redemption value to drop a bit!
