Can I ask you what your favorite off the beaten path things are there? I'm very much interested in going and have actually thought of spending a full week, as sort of an exercise in forced relaxation. I speak Spanish and have spent lots of time in mainland Chile, if that makes a difference. And last year I spent about four days by myself in Punta Arenas in the middle of winter, with just about nothing to do except wander around, read books, and eat - it was very pleasant!
