MUC - LHR 3 Oct Club Europe (late flight)

Please read this review with a pinch of salt, and 3+ Oktoberfest stein.

Flying back after a day of drinking strong Oktoberfest Mass…. My first mistake.

I’m starting this review at exactly 20:56 - 1 minute past the scheduled dept time, sat in the lounge due to a delayed flight.



Gave me time to get out of my lederhosen of course (photos not included in this review, but feel free to PM me to see!).



Flight landed 5 mins ago it was meant to land at 2010.



2100 In the lounge I treat myself to another pretzel (gotta love the bread in Germany) but no more beer. A Coke for my shaking nervous system, I watch the planes moving around the airport (upstairs was v busy but I found a window seat).



2115 last boarding. but not really. It’s a bus.



2145 the all female crew are going crazy trying to play Tetris. I’m in row 1, my bags are miles back & my row companion had to make the sensible suggestion of putting extra bags under the empty seats (most people on business were happy with that. 2A-C is empty.

2205 safety briefing. But it’s about to get really bad….

2210 captain comes on to say “we’re ready to go….but air traffic control have informed me there are drones in the airspace, so the airfield is closed”. FFSSSS.

2220 crew are eating their dinner lol.

2240 still being told no idea what’s going on. The fear is now about airport closures….

2300 it’s a no. Get off.

Scramble to book hotel. Big queue at arrivals.
