So not sure if this one is for dykwia or group 0…
I was taking a flight from t3 that was badly delayed (nearly 3 hours) so as often in those cases, people were quite restless in the gate area (gate 11 so one of those check if first then wait) though reasonably well behaved.
I was not in a huge rush to board as I only had my small backpack but was there standing on the side quietly, about 5 metres from the entrance to the jetbridge, since the flight had wrongly shown as “boarding” for a while. Gate agent was moving around with gate checked bags (flight was full) and regularly checking on her phone about when boarding would start with people waiting mostly patiently.
suddenly, a man barged in from nowhere and pushed his way very “physically” towards the jet bridge in front of bewildered passengers and gate agent alike.
gate agent: sir, we haven’t started boarding
pax (accent redacted

) : but it says it’s boarding
ga: I know I’m sorry it just says that when we start processing people through the gate but we are not actually boarding
pax: I’m emerald
ga: sir we haven’t started boarding
pax is clearly very unhappy calls someone to complain about Europe and Europeans in no uncertain terms but also blockades the way to the jet ridge by creating some sort of barricade with his backpack, his crazily large suitcase, and his jacket. Really bizarre but clearly trying to ensure that whenever boarding starts absolutely no lady can go before him. Meanwhile, his phone calls continue one after the other and he walks like some sort of patrolling border guard along his man made frontier whilst the gate lady clearly not trusting him uses the tends thing to block the way.
a while later, it’s finally time to board. The gate agent walks to a gentleman with a stick then comes to me - totally surprised - and says “Sir, you are group 0 right? [nod with sUr pride], please come with me”.
we approach like a slow caravan and our shepherding gate agent looks at the man intently “sorry sir…” him: “I’m emerald” her: “I know, we will be boarding group 1 shortly, but can you please move aside . I have two passengers who need to board before you”.
id love to have seen is face but truth be told I didn’t look. Suffice to say I have no idea how she spotted me (my bp was checked but not by her) but apart from anything else, it’s been one of my most impressive group 0 experience so far!
