I have been looking at booking YVR-SIN in February. The fare was competitive, but the connection time from either YUL or YYZ is approx. 90 minutes. The last two TPACs flights I had with connections of less than 3 hours in the winter, my bags did not make the connection. I did not purchase my flight with Air Canada today. Instead, I will look at alterative routings with other carriers.
Also, I have been promising myself that I will do cherry blossom season in Japan this year. Unfortunately, the AC airfares from eastern Canada to TYO are high compared to other carriers. Delta $6,000, West Jet or United & ANA - $7,200 and Air Canada - $9,000. I won't be flying with Air Canada for this activity.
AC fares TPAC are ridiculous. I am looking at YYZ-SIN-KUL-YYZ for end of November. Korean, EVA, China Eastern are all in the $7-8 k zone. PR $6k. AC is already closing on $10k.
