That sounds awful. Hope you get away soon, what a mess

I've always really loved the hustle EI has to get a flight boarded at Dublin - they're the best I've seen at it and I find myself irritated by the sluggishness of boarding of other airlines (Ryanair excepted).

They don't seem to have any backup at all though. If something goes wrong, even at Dublin, they seem to be left to fend for themselves with no information and no backup to tell them what to do for the 200 people standing in front of them. Absolutely no excuse for getting ratty with customers who are rightly trying to answer the questions that Shamrock House doesn't seem to care enough to answer for the team on the ground though.

I live in fear of IROPs when flying Aer Lingus. Status doesn't matter.- it's just a needlessly stressful mess every time. Not picking on EI - a lot of airlines are awful at it, and Aer Lingus is one of them.
