Hotel adheres to providing Diamond benefits according to t&c:
- no fuss with proving breakfast for 2 persons total, but in each a seperate room
- late checkout offered proactively till 14,00 H
- upgrade granted (even in advance via the app)

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked an award room that grants a standard room, this was upgraded 72 hours in advance to "a level 4 KING premium".
My own room "KING Premium Bath & Shower" was already the highest catagory and there is nothing left to upgrade further into.

How are the rooms?
Charmingly decorated with all British essentials:
- empty mini fridge
- a kettle and teas
- milk for the tea
- complimentary biscuits
- a loo that has a good run
- a shower with power
But there is also a Nespresso capsule coffeemachine with 4 capsules replenished daily

How is the exec. lounge?
None, Indigos never have an executive lounge

What was good and what was bad?
Neutral
- hotel is a bit of a walk away from the main railway station but is in a quiet street
There is a taxi rink at the station which can be a lifesaver if you carry more than 3 suitcases

Bad
If your room has a connecting door, you can hear everything of your neighbour's activities from chatterchitchat to matters of the flesh

Good
- rooms have charm in design
- complimentary biscuit, i am beginning to sound like Hannah Ricketts
- chripy cheery staff with a York twist
- location is close to lots of restaurants at Walmgate
- breakfast buffet is restocked even 20 minutes before closing
- instead of the lift one can reach guestfloors by stairs
