I just did this again for a hotel in Vegas. Booked the room, called the hotel and they immediately transferred me to the general Marriott line. That person couldn't make any changes to the reservation so they cancelled it, rebooked it under my name and Bonvoy #, added the guests' names and that was it. No issues.

The guests were able to check in and stay and had no issue. Problem now is that my account was given the bonus points for that stay but I had a paid stay at a different hotel in a different city that overlapped by a day. That paid stay hasn't posted, of course.

Why am I even receiving the bonus points for a check-in I didn't do? I thought elite benefits aren't available to those who don't stay.

Guess I'll have to argue with Marriott about getting this fixed. We're talking thousands of points difference. I don't need the nights as I'm already LTT.

Hi RobOnLI,

If you need assistance getting this sorted out, please feel free to send a Private Message with your full name and email address along with the dates and location of the posted stay. We also saw your post regarding your stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Arlington/Entertainment District. We'd be glad to follow up on that as well if you provide your reservation confirmation number.

Thanks,
