had the same issue - use incognito mode. Worked for me. Everything merged instantly. Status points, points, certificates, the activity all merged in with their respective dates.
worked perfectly for my wife, then failed for me. Blocked on iPhone , nonfunctional screen on desktop incognito (options showed but not in right format and not clickable).
ETA turns out I was already merged, never linked accounts. Same login id between accounts but so was my wife’s and those weren’t moved.
