We had a wonderful 3D2N stay here, because we wanted a change from our usual haunt (Renassiance JB at Permas Jaya). The hotel is attached to Paradigm Mall, which is a great alternative for parents compared to the significantly more crowded MidValley South Key. With 3 indoor playgrounds at Paradigm, the children can be kept pretty happy for a few days. We understand from our friends in JB that the hotel used to be an abandoned Serviced Apartment.
The lobby, reception, rooms, and facilities appear to be sparkling new and pretty well maintained. We appreciated the inclusion of the sofa, as our 5-year-old could sleep on it instead of the air mattress that we brought along. The pool is really huge, considering how few rooms there are.
Our booking did not include breakfast, but the staff graciously allowed me to take a peek. From what I could see, the spread is more than what you'd expect at a 4 star hotel, but less than that of a 5 star hotel. We tried their restaurant for dinner one night, while the handmade pasta was delicious, the portions were unusually small.
The 3 lifts are annoyingly not synced up, so a lot of time and electricity is wasted by everyone pressing both sets of buttons (but you'd only be able to ride in one). Another really frustrating feature is the all-or-nothing room light set up - you'd have all the lights ON or all of them OFF. There was nothing in between - no night lights or cove behind the bed's headrest. For a hotel attached to a pretty family-friendly mall, parents would definitely need soft/dim lights to move around the room after the children are put to bed.
