It is good that people point out just how bad SkyMiles are. A lot of people don't have much of a choice anymore with consolidation. Delta SkyMiles is not a good value and people who value loyalty and rewatds should choose to bot fly Delta, but if you live in places like SLC, MSP, or ATL that is hard. It is good to see there voices that call for more regulation of these programs as Delta continues to lead the industry in devaluing miles programs. When Delta devalues miles everyone else follows.
All airlines are devaluing status and loyalty programs as they look to monetize many aspects of the flying experience and monetize higher cabins. Not saying you have to like it but the US airlines are all doing the same thing, with DL doing the best job at monetizing the premium cabins and leveraging revenue from the cobranded CC partnership.
