Another passenger in first today tried to order a beer coming down from LGA to DCA. Flight attendant said a new rule went into effect today (October 1) where alcohol is no longer complementary in First Class. When someone questioned her, she said, "check your email." If true, is this related to flight time?
Obviously this is bogus but I'm curious whether he could get his beer if he paid for it and whether anyone else asked for alcohol and was denied. Unless it was in the morning, I find it highly unlikely that only one passenger on that route would order alcohol.
