I think this is very important. I have a bunch of miles expiring end of this year and next year. So if a transfer to Korea Air will reset the expiry date for another 10 years, that would really be helpful.

Another observation. Currently, Diamond Plus Lifetime members that obtain such status before 2018 got grandfather in where we can visit the First Class Lounge in ICN with any class (including economy class) ticket... I think we are going to lose out on this access.
