I had a great experience this weekend at the hotel. Globalist benefits are well recognized here. I had a large amount of rooms booked for my wedding this weekend and the hotel proactively extended free parking and breakfast to all the rooms without me asking. Don't want to specify the number of rooms in case something like this can get the GM in trouble, but I will say that it was a
SIGNIFICANT cost savings. Received a slightly early ~2pm check in after emailing the GM and coordinating my arrival time. Also got a few killer views of planes flying overhead from the nearby Miramar Air show. No welcome amenity but that doesn't bother me. All staff were genuine and attentive.
Parking is paid but there are many spots in the garage, even when the hotel is fully booked. There are also Tesla destination chargers and J1772 chargers in the parking garage. Even with the hotel at full capacity, I was always able to find a Tesla destination charger. The charging was also free, as it should be after paying for parking. Not that this is a benefit over the Manchester Grand Hyatt which charges for EV charging even after paying to get into the parking garage. If my parking wasn't waived though, I would probably just try to risk it with street parking nearby the adjacent apartments.
Breakfast at the Shor was great. Servers were attentive and food came out fast even with the hotel at full capacity. The breakfast buffet is concurrently available in addition to made to order items. The food tasted great and the price point is actually decent for a normal restaurant, and dare I say cheap for a hotel restaurant? It was $19 for an eggs Benedict which in Southern California is actually decently/good priced. I would consider eating here even without free breakfast.
