Hi,
I'm a BA Gold, and am thinking of doing the UA status match/challenge.
I have 10 upcoming United flights (mostly business), which will get me 10 PQF and 10000+ PQP.
Thus, I'm going to be way over the requirement for PQP for Premier Platinum, but below the requirement for PQF for Premier Platinum. (It seems crazy to me that they want 15 United flights from people who don't live in the US!)
Can I request a match to Gold instead of Platinum? If not, in your experience is there any substitutability in the match between PQF and PQP, meaning they might grant me the Platinum status anyway?
Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there any chance of talking to a human from United customer service about this before I trigger the match?

Any other recent experiences? I don't think I can practically do another 5 segments as cbfh suggested.
