I would be rather unhappy if my government started passing data to a foreign government with less than stellar data protection record (to put it mildly), especially in times when the said foreign government undergoes gradual transition to a fascist regime, just to make entry into the US faster for a few people.

It has always been a bad idea but right now it's particularly unwise to enter such agreements.
