Hyatt Place Mt. Laurel, New Jersey REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

I stayed at this property twice in the last two months. Both times utilizing points at a rate of 5k points a night. Here is my review of the hotel.

Location:
It is right off Hwy 38 in Mt. Laurel. Both NJ Turnpike and I-295 are about 5 minutes away. Philadelphia’s Center City is about 20 minutes and Atlantic City about 55 minutes. There is a Whole Foods Market within 5 minutes drive. Cherry Hill Mall about 10-15 minutes.

Parking:
There is plenty of free self parking around the building. It is also easy to find spots with shade. A big plus in the warm months.

Lobby/Public space:
The lobby is tastefully decorated with a contemporary vibe. There is a front desk area to check in. There is also a bar area to order drinks and light snacks. There is water bottle filling station right outside of the first floor public bathroom. The hotel is clean, though probably needs a renovation soon. One of the decorative panels in the elevator was falling off. There were scratches all over the first floor elevator doors. The ice machine on the floor I was staying at was broken during the first visit. I had to go to the other two floors or front desk to get ice. By the time I stayed the second time ALL of the ice machines were out; the front desk was the only option. There was a pool but no hot tub. The pool is in an outdoor area completely detached from the building.

Staff:
The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They will also help you with getting ice and hot water.

Food/Beverage:
Breakfast was complimentary. Food was the typical offering of hot and cold items. Quality was typical of a hotel chain; there were no waffle makers. Coffee was offered only during breakfast hours; there was no coffee available for the rest of the day except the ones that are in the room.

Rooms:
Rooms were clean and spacious. There is a mini fridge in the room but no microwave. A safe is available. The King Room’s bathroom is a lot nicer a Double Room’s. Though the King Room is a shower only; the Double Room has a tub.

Conclusion:
It was a ok stay overall. The place badly needs a renovation. Though for 5k I would stay here again.
