It's all entirely the same thing from an end user standpoint. Ultimately someone doesn't care enough about status holders to ensure the IT delivers the benefits that they are (theoretically) entitled to.
And I echo the point already made that when BA's competitors can provide better service on BA bookings that BA can itself, that's about as damning as it gets...
