Thanks everyone for the answers on if I could check my bags the night before my flight and if we ever stay at IC after a trip I now know that we could walk from inside T1 to the IC at any hour as opposed to calling IC for a ride.

As far as walking from IC to T1, it's a mute point as based on my experience, on a perfect sunny day without bags, it's not something I would ever try again or recommend to anyone.........especially with bags.
