It is not well lit, and you should only do it in daylight. From MSP, head to the car rental area (ground transportation level to the tram, tram to car rental area, then up one level) Walk straight through the main rental area and out the unmarked door at the end, through a barely used parking lot, across the street (no crosswalk, be careful of traffic as cars do not expect pedestrians there) and on to the sidewalk. You will see the hotel on the left, a very short sidewalk stroll from there. 10 minute from baggage claim at most.

From the hotel, do the reverse, except you cannot enter the door in rental car, and have to go around the building to the first door on the left, where the busses pick up and drop off. Down one level, the tram etc. Again only a 10 minute walk at most. The issue is crossing the street with no crosswalk and with cars not expecting pedestrians to be there. Because of this, we do not recommend it at night. Its simple, but not easy if you are hauling large suitcases.

I'm sorry but that is just not correct. I drive down Northwest Drive daily.

There is are crosswalks and both cross walks are at a stop sign so no one is dodging any traffic. It is less than a 10 minute walk even with the street crossing. I probably wouldnt do it at night but it is not difficult even with baggaage because of the wheelchair ramps.
