While I would prefer to book stays with Hyatt, with the change in FFN occuring soon it doesn't matter to me if Priceline gives me something other than Hyatt.
I just checked on the BFT and BetterBidding websites and discovered that you are absolutely correct that the EB Hilton participates in Priceline and has participated since before 2004. Apparently, the consensus is that one should bid $42 or higher to get the Hilton and less than $42 to get the Hyatt.
I've actually used Priceline on many occasions in the past to get a hotel room in New Brunswick. As I recall, I've gotten the Hyatt (at <$40 per night) on 2-3 occasions, but I have never gotten the Hilton. I usually won't bid over $40 (since I live only 45 minutes away from NB and will usually opt to drive home instead of paying more for the convenience of staying overnight). Last December, I did bid up to about $50, but my bid was not accepted. I ended up taking a room at the NB Hyatt for $70 or $80 (corporate discounted rate).
