Not sure if anyone had similar experience but, I have an account that was dormant for 2 years or so (was an SPG account. Pretty sure I transferred all points to an airline before expiration. Balance was zero). About a week ago, a relative transferred some points to my account but 4 days later, the points "expired" ! I messaged cs how could points expire when I just received them a few days before. Response was, "to keep your account active, you are required to make a point earning transaction once every 24 months." So Bonvoy will retroactively penalize for dormant account??
They did restore the points as goodwill but...really?
