One of the stays has an implied rate even lower:
Stay 6: 3 Nights
Base Points: 1042
Elite Points: 1042
Bonus Points: 8000
Brand Bonus: 2082
Elite Welcome Gift: Breakfast.
That's about 35 USD/night — impressive!!
Overall his average is a hair under 80 USD/night, with about 2.7k bonus points/night, or net "54X earning" as IHG would call it.
If that was a pure mattress run, effectively he bought points at about 1.8 cents USD per point (before credit card rewards) or 1.3 cents USD per point (after card rewards). If purely discretionary added spend, not a great proposition, in my view. Of course, if he actually needed somewhere to live for those months, not a bad haul!
Perhaps on my next long flight I shall tally my own summer earnings vis a vis those promotions. I think I did a lot worse haha. 😅
