I just took a deep dive and here's what I think...

1. The earn chart referenced above is for paid tickets. We know this because the link embedded in the chart under "Earn points" takes you to the earning chart for paid tickets on AS, partner sites, etc.

2. The T&Cs for earning status points on awards reads as follows:

"New Status points earning

Award travel
Members will receive 1 status point for every mile flown on tickets booked with Atmos Rewards points, including segments operated by Alaska partners. Status points are non-redeemable and cannot be used toward award travel."


The only plausible argument to exclude Latam from this is that it references "Alaska partners" and Latam will no longer be an Alaska partner. However, it uses the term "including", which means it is not limited solely to "Alaska partners". While I'm sure Alaska will read this any way they want, the plain language of the T&Cs say if you book a ticket with Atmos rewards you should receive 1 status point per mile flown regardless of whether it's Latam or anyone else.

I'm going to book and see if we get some clarity before the flight happens mid-next year.
