Has anyone else noticed (in the last day or two) a significant and unexpected (and, at least in terms of status points, impossible) decrease in both redeemable and status points balances?

I was taking screenshots of my balances as I was on some AA travel last week and wanted to see how the points tallied, so my status point balance on Friday was 83,852 - imagine my surprise when I opened the app today and the status point balance is 65,436. Ugh. I'm on the phone with customer care right now, so resolution pending, but wanted to flag for others - check your points balances!

Edit to add - redeemable points also went down by a significant amount but I don't have a screenshot of that so best guess is it decreased by about 10,000, but I am not certain of the exact amount.

Edit to add #2 - lots of hemming and hawing by the agent; lots of "it looks like it adds up" and "we are merging with Hawaiian and we don't know what might happen" and "it's kind of unpredictable right now". Um, not exactly reassuring. The agent, for her part, was very nice and as helpful as I am sure she could be, but clearly there is a bit of a disaster going on over there right now. They are opening a case and I will send in the screenshot via email.
