Booked my first long haul cash fare with BA since tiermargeddon for next year (MAN-LHR-MEX return) because for this route at £400 more for F, compared to J on AF, it felt like a good deal on a trip I wanted to make. While this one trip would have got me 2/3 of the way to Gold (as a BA holiday) and thus encouraged me to book another trip to reach Gold or a couple more for GGL, FFPs no longer play a part in the decision. I've booked a trip I want to make, and BA has offered me the best combination of price, quality and convenience on this occasion.

It's nice being a free agent.
