I meant to follow up on this on my last trip to BKK. The A380 is using a different system now from what the 788 fleet does. On my last trips with the A380 on DOH-BKK it seems they are using the Panasonic system that also some of the ex-CX birds use. It has very decent speeds (but not near Starlink) and it allows for connectivity over India (Unlike the other non-Starlink systems QR uses on other aircraft).
