Researching ROR (Palau)-EWR using AmEx MR. Most options are on UA (fortunately my selected airline) with routing ROR/GUM/NRT/EWR or ROR/NRT/EWR. Planning NRT-EWR in Biz class.

Searching ROR-EWR Biz class displays ~900k-1M MR required. ROR-GUM-NRT and NRT-ROR is 737 planes so minimal benefits to Biz seating. Searching ROR-NRT Econ displays 60k-70k and NRT-EWR Biz ~300k so big MR price difference between 1 ticket and 2 tickets.

I’ll probably check a bag, wouldn’t want to be required to claim it and then recheck, which might require clearing passport control. If purchased as 2 tickets, could UA combine the 2 tickets to one PNR for baggage check and “IRROPS rerouting/protection” purposes?
