Without knowing the specifics, it’s probably a hotel van. And it’s contracted for by the airline. The crew probably has rules around using the van and probably “have to” use it. Additionally, none of us were there, but it’s quite possible the hotel kept saying 5 more minutes… I’ve certainly experienced that.
