I used to stay at the Hyatt Place Hongqiao CBD or Hyatt House Hongqiao CBD when I needed to take an early train the next day. The walk from the hotel to the Hongqiao Train Station was ok.

Last week in Shanghai, I tried out the two new hotels Traders Hotel Hongqiao Airport and Shangri-La Hotel Hongqiao Airport. Yes, I know that these are not Hyatt properties, but in my opinion, these two new (opened 01 Sep) Shangri-La properties are by far the most convenient when staying at/near the airport or train station. Both hotels are directly connected to the T2 Level 3 Departures Hall (3-min walk to the Check-In A area). Also an easy walk within the airport to take intercity/regional trains. And, the Metro is also easily accessible by going down to Level 1 Arrivals Hall.

The rates for my stays were CNY 550 for Traders and CNY 1,199 for the Shangri-La property. I have access to the Horizon Club Lounge at the Shang, but I think the offerings were not very good for breakfast nor happy hour. So, I think I would rather just stay at the Traders next time.
