I've stayed at the HP Hongqiao, which is walking distance to Hongqiao train station. (and the airport FWIW)
But without Google Maps - the hotel is linked to the wrong spot - it was still a nightmare to find the hotel and to figure out the train system.
In hindsight I should have just stayed at one of the more central hotels accustomed to dealing with foreigners, and taken the metro to the train station.
