You shouldn’t have to look through more than two dozen or so results (Las Vegas, New York, London, etc.) when done that way.
And in most cities, it's considerably less than that, particularly if limited to FHR which is what OP referenced.
Seems like a very minor complaint.
I use Amex FHR credits for off-brand stays, as the FHR benes are mostly duplicative of my Marriott/Hyatt benefits.
