Your profile says "GGL" and Gold for Life, so it is top OW status. You should have lounge access on all of your OW flights regardless of the cabin. Since you mention trying to get to Silver, I may have misunderstood which status you hold with OW.
Regarding cash payments - I understand why more and more companies do not accept cash. I, personally, hate handling it and am glad that it is cards only for BoB on most airlines, but I understand that preferences differ.
Regarding TPs - they are awarded on the basis of spend now, so to achieve Silver you need to spend GBP7,500 plus taxes.
