This is a brand new hotel that has been open approx. 1 month. Decor is nice and cheery. While I really wanted to love this hotel, it is very convenient for visiting nearby family, my impressions are mixed. NUA cleared 5 nights in advance. Furnishings are nice. There is a nice bar area though I didn't try it. Limited food menu available for sale in the evening in the breakfast area. We tried the cheesecake. As expected it was just okay and pricey. That said, it is nice that there are evening food options available on property.
Now on to why the mediocre rating for the hotel. First, the mattresses on the bed are extremely hard (like lying on cement). On the other hand the pillows are very flimsy providing almost no neck support. Second, shower water never got steaming hot. It was more than lukewarm but not truly hot. Next the food serving area in the breakfast room is ridiculously small for the size of the property. The staff did do a good job of replenishing everything; however, it was always a traffic jam when going to get food. Furthermore, there were relatively few people having breakfast each morning. It will be extremely bad when there is a breakfast rush.
I have another stay coming up at this property in November. Hopefully that stay is a bit better though I am not sure what can be done about the hard mattresses. Depending on how we feel after that stay, we may go back to using the other properties in the area (Melville Marriott, Courtyard Republic Airport, etc.).
