Can you put the ticket on hold and call to purchase and split the charge across the two cards?

if you wanted to test it, you could buy the cheapest fully-refundable fare you can find and pay for it using Paypal, then see how the charges appear on the credit card statement, in particular, does it show the charge as being directly from the airline? I would guess that it would show the charge as being from Paypal, but I haven't tried it.
