I once had an overnight due irrops in CDG, during the Paris airshow. The only room left anywhere was in the Pullman, at three times the normal price. AF/KL covered or it.
When given a choice, I'd probably still pick the Pullman, in spite of the plastic sheets they put on the beds, the restaurant that somehow has gotten worse, and their general lack of concern.
Fine. You got me. I've stayed most places, but the old-school Ibis — not the Ibis styles (of course I've been there a couple times too) — never disappoints. A bed near the airport and nothing more. No airline will frown if you go there and take a dinner. Alas, it's practically thirty years since their restaurant asked that the Michelin star be removed, and probably twenty-five since they had a kitchen that could be considered Michelin-quality, but your can pretend.
