Understood the points from spend will not post until after Jan 6.
Correct. But ensure you are looking at the statement date and not the payment due date, which is several days earlier.

The points from spend don't post until the next statement is generated.

For those looking to earn a 2-year CP from the elevated SUB for the Chase Southwest Biz Card (currently 120k) you will want to apply for the card closer to the October 22 deadline as your statement close date will usually be 30 days after approval, so you will want some time to spend and earn after your 2nd statement close (even more time if you need to make a mid-cycle payment due to credit limit). Of course you don't have to do the entire spend during the 3rd statement cycle but whatever posts on a statement prior to 2026 won't count towards the 2026 CP.

Also keep in mind Southwest can change the rules for CP without any advance notice, as it has done recently on other items. So there is no guarantee that CP will still be 135k on January 1st. That said, I would expect the CP requirement will remain at 135k for the remainder of 2025, as it would be unfair to change it for customers currently working to that goal.
