How much additional space do JAL members get than partners to make this a detriment?
More seasoned award travelers than me can comment on JAL's own award availability as compared to award space released to partners, but there are some upsides to booking directly with JAL: For example, AS has not had access to JAL F since at least 2024, so those looking to book first can at least get access through C1 (I think prior to C1 partnership, BILT and Marriott were the only transfer partners).
