Just for fun, I'll provide a contrary opinion, that none of the new benefits (and most of the old benefits) matter to me.
- Increased FHR credit - don't care. Forced myself to use FHR when had card, not something I'd otherwise use.
- Increased digital entertainment credit - don't subscribe to any, wouldn't on my own, might if had card.
- Resy - don't see any local restaurant I care about. I mostly eat in authentic ethnic restaurants, many don't take Amex (if they take CC at all).
- Uber One - not something I'd pay for.
- Lululemon - LOL
- Oura - LOL
These are just my habits. I think the refresh is a great deal for those who can benefit more effortlessly.
Yeah I mean I get that my experience here isn’t universal. My point was more that they pretty clearly were targeting a certain type of profile with these credits, and they did a good job making it make sense for that type of person: urbanite, travels a lot and likes staying in fancy hotels as at least an occasional treat, eats out sometimes, etc. (I just so happen to be that type of person).
For the record there are tons of “authentic ethnic restaurants” in NYC that are on Resy though.
