I wouldn’t offer this as a “great” suggestion, but with my family group pulling at three different age groups (teenager, middle age and 80s) we’ve been enjoying excursions to Kawasaki and found ourselves going there more regularly. It has enjoyable shōtengai, two very different malls and a major city “high street” vibe, it’s busy but also laid back. The seasonal lights in December will probably be very pretty, especially in La Cittadella, we’ll be taking the opportunity to check them out later this year.
It’s only 15 minutes from Haneda Airport on the Keikyū line so you can choose to stay near the Keikyū Kawasaki station or at Haneda Airport.
