Piggybacking here as well... Booked an award ticket YYZ->FRA->LHR->BKK.

Arriving in FRA at 11:10 am, departing FRA at 8:00 am next day for a 20 hour layover. (Which I would have avoided if I could, can't do anything about it due to the nature of award itineraries.)

Was charged:* Airport Security Charge - Germany(DE) 19.30 CAD
* Air Transport Tax - Germany(OY) 115.00 CAD
* International Passenger Service Tax - Germany(RA) 66.10 CAD

For a whopping $200 CAD just for the privilege of a layover of less than 20 hours!

I was thinking the taxes were a bit high so I went investigating and found this thread.

Any idea what happened here?

This is the same ticket/itinerary under the same PNR, but each leg is on different carriers.
