Note the safety deposits are quite high even for a class B vehicle; 800 000 CLP was blocked on my bank card each time as a pré-autorisation.
And I said this in other threads, but very few people speak anything but espagnol in Chile. This includes front-end staff and PAF.

Two questions though:
- Did you spontaneously show your IDP or did they ask for it?
- Did you show both German and IDP or only the IDP?
I am asking because in other testimonies, I read that the car rental people took foreign driving licence alone without any question raised or even pushed away the IDP saying it was not necessary.
